The Document People’s first public event at the Brentwood fair was a success!
It was a great set up along San Vicente Blvd., on a gorgeous Southern California day. Our location was perfect, because we were the second stand right in the middle of the fair, where Gotham Ave. intersects San Vicente Blvd. We set up the big 15 year anniversary banner facing the traffic, rather than the public, so we got some extra attention that way. The TV with the animations was great – even with the bright sun light. We were there from 10 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. Some of the vendors started packing around 3:30 p.m. The crowd was somewhat thin, less than we expected. Some other vendors who go every year told us that it was the least people they had ever seen. I guess too many events on the same day didn’t help (Ciclavia right on Venice Blvd., the first weekend of NBA playoffs on TV, the perfect beach day, some said the mood wasn’t jovial after the events in Boston…).
None of the less, we talked to a lot of people, and a few took home living trust questionnaires an promised to come in soon.
We are seriously considering doing it again in October.
