Well it’s never really a bad time to seek help to have your living trust drafted, but if you really need an extra “push” to get started, then maybe the birth of your first child might be it. That’s what prompted us to come up with this cute little baby as our testimonial – maybe “spokesperson” is a stretch in this case.

When you have a minor child, you can incorporate in your trust provisions about a custodian of the estate – meaning an adult who will administer the child’ inheritance until legal age.
Keep in mind that the legal age can be raised for a living trust. It’s pretty common to have parents raising the legal age of distribution to – say – 25 years old. Or to make payments over time, so if the young heir is not exactly savvy with the money inherited, he/she will have a second chance (or a third) in a few years. Some people even choose to have the graduation at a college as a requirement to get the balance of the inheritance.
Also, imagine the horrible scenario of a minor child with no living parents. With a living trust in place an adult – called the guardian – can make the same decisions that a parent.
We don’t believe in cookie-cutter estate planning. That’s why our Living Trusts are drafted by a local attorney. For a comparable price you’ll get from what we like to call Legaldoom, you have the peace of mind to know it’s done right; our living trust include a pour over will, a financial power of attorney, a medical directive, and the notary.
Plus if you own a real estate, we take care of the funding of your real estate with a quitclaim deed for a small additional fee.
The Document People is a network of independent legal document assistants. Our trusts are drafted by an attorney for a low flat fee, which makes filling out a living trust form fast and affordable. Notary is included. Visit our stores in Los Angeles County (Woodland Hills, Santa Monica, San Fernando, Van Nuys, Glendale, Torrance and opening soon in Hollywood), Orange County (Anaheim, Irvine), San Diego County (Oceanside) and now Ventura County, in the city of Ventura, inside Pacific View Mall.
